This place really did used to be a pool, and here's something I got mailed in:

"...Blackrock Baths, haven't seen the inside of that place for donkeys years and when I was small I was taught to swim there in the big pool by a lady called Mrs Woods. I believe she must have taught half of Dublin to swim at that time and she looked about 100 years of age to me..." - thanks Caroline!!

She's talking about the exact pool in the photo above. I learned to swim in the far less interesting Stillorgan Pools. Nuts...
